For the record, MacArthur's remarks at the flag raising ceremony in the city of Manila came from February 1945, not 1944.

They are TRULY "The Greatest Generation'!

o'm legally blind and I love to listen to WWII news from CBS and other reports. My father and uncle both served in the 28th. Infantry Div. in the war. Of course I love sci-fi, mystery, crime drama, and many other old time radio shows from the early days of radio!
