“It was just a simple computer prank. How could I have known that it would almost get us all killed?”

When sixteen year old Cai Peterson poses as an online troll to relieve the boredom after being grounded for drinking at a party, he tangles with a cyberstalker who’s not only willing to make his virtual life miserable, but his real life as well. As Cai searches for the stalker, it seems like nearly everyone in his sleepy Texas town has something to hide. Surrounded by suspects, Cai has to navigate a shifting landscape of treachery and truth to uncover a hidden enemy before he and his family pay the ultimate price.

entertaining read

I downloaded the libravox app hoping for some freebie audiobooks that I hadn't read yet knowing most would be classics but was pleasantly surprised when I came across the podiobooks. This one sounded the most interesting so I figured I'd give it a go. I'd never listened to one before and so when I read this I was not expecting it to be as good as it turned out to be. I was thoroughly impressed. The story was great. It had a good twist at the end. Cai's character was likable and well thought out. I like that he had some depth to him. Steve was your typical meek best friend and Candice was a actually a better love interest than I could have expected. She was the pretty girl next door but I liked that there wasn't too much drama woven into that part of the story. Towards the end I caught on to what was happening sooner that I would have liked to but that can happen a lot in books. The very end was an added twist that was a nice reward. All in all it was a good entertaining read and I'd read another book by this author. Thanks Artemis Greenleaf for the great podiobook experience!

Wow! Dean Koontz Take Note.

First, Librivox, thank you for this addition. I don't know how exactly all this works but it is great to have this "modern" content available from a trusted friend. Not withstanding my grumpy old man worries below, this is a brilliant work. Cybercrime is going to be a large part of our future. This genius treatment will help people prepare for what is coming. Now the old man bit. Does this need an adult or content warning? There is some disturbing material here. My dim wit can not tell whether this content is part of the "new normal" or not. I would have spent many hours at the dinner table discussing it with my kids 30 years ago if they were reading it. But, wow, what brilliant work. More please.

Great listen; I couldn't turn it off. The character development was fantastic; as good as anything I've seen from Dean Koontz. The only constructive criticism I have is that, being a native Texan, who grew up in Houston, Austin and Dallas, Texas, and also loves Brittish comedies, I could tell ...

This was an absolutly amazing story. Thank you, Mr. Greenleaf. :) You did a great job writing a mentally ill character with Padfoot/Steve. I have to agree with Steven that I could tell this was written byt a Brit: that's not such a big deal in audio, but if you ...

Hi - I just had to chime in (since two people mention it!)- Although I narrated the story, I didnt write it (I am not Artemis Greenleaf!) - Artemis *is* a Texan author (born and raised in small towns around Houston) - perhaps its just the way I read some ...

I appreciate the lovely feedback! I'm glad ppl have been enjoying the story. Except for about four years in Los Angeles, I've lived all my life in Texas. My narrator is a Brit (can you blame a girl for digging that sexy accent?), but I will be doing my own ...

LOVED IT! Loved the hot British guy reading it too! I didn't even mind the way he said schedule. Okay enough about him. Really..the book was awesome. I didn't even figure out 'who did it' for awhile, which was nice. :) I liked the character development as well. Thanks so ...

I truly enjoyed this book, Artemis. It was well written and had a great pace. I look forward to your next book. I also enjoyed the narration, Andrew. I would love to hear more from you. That being said, I found it very difficult to believe this story to be ...
