American Radio Shows No 8 - The Electric Hour Part 1
CBS Radio
The Electric Hour is an American old-time radio program of popular music that aired on CBS from September 20, 1944, to June 9, 1946. Nelson Eddy starred in the show, featuring a guest star who sang duets with him in each episode. The program showcased a variety of genres, including music from films, folk songs, and ballads from many lands.
Initially originating from CBS Columbia Square in Hollywood, California, the show moved to the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California, due to a studio space shortage at CBS. The program's title was inspired by its sponsor, a group of electric utilities across the United States.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
