John Steinbeck - Of Mice And Men

(4.8 stars; 131 reviews)

Of Mice and Men is a dramatization of John Steinbeck's seminal 1937 novel about migrant workers in 1930s California whose dream of one day owning a place of their own is tragically destroyed. This intimate portrait follows two men, George and his simple-minded friend Lennie, as they navigate a world marred by misunderstanding and jealousy.

As drifters, they dream of a place to call their own—a couple of acres and a few animals back in Hill Country where land is cheap. However, their hopes begin to unravel after they come to work on a ranch in the fertile Salinas Valley of California. Steinbeck's tale of commitment, loneliness, hope, and loss remains one of America's most widely read and beloved novels.

I listened to it in one go. Solid performances by all actors involved. Great sound effects and interim songs that play in between chapters.
