This is a wonderful book about how a woman felt from right before WW1 throughout the war. Her writing sketches were beautiful. I could see the people, smell the flowers, feel the sadness she felt for each soldier and their wives and children they may or may not come back to. I do wish Elroi would have read this all the way through.
