Columbia Presents Corwin
The Odyssey of Runyon Jones
Columbia Presents Corwin showcases the work of Norman Corwin, one of radio’s most distinctive writers. His programs bring together dramatic writing, vivid sound, and a strong sense of language, creating stories that can move between humor, fantasy, and serious reflection.
The series presents self-contained radio plays rather than a continuing serial. Actors, music, and sound effects help shape each performance, while Corwin’s writing gives the broadcast its particular character. This recording is The Odyssey of Runyon Jones, a title that suggests a journey at the heart of the play.
Corwin’s radio work is known for its imaginative scope and expressive use of the medium. Listeners can expect a crafted dramatic performance in which spoken words and sound work together to carry the story.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
