Grimms' Fairy Tales

(4.5 stars; 459 reviews)

A classic collection of oral German folklore, brought together for posterity by the scholarly brothers Grimm in the 1800s, this epitome of fairy tales includes many of the world’s best known stories. In these dark foreboding woods, you will find: Rapunzel, Hansel and Gretel, Rumpelstiltskin, Lily and the Lion (better known as Beauty and the Beast), and Snow White and Rose Red, among other timeless works. These tales were later heavily revised and sanitised, but here are presented closer to their grim and beloved originals. (Summary by Marlo Dianne) (10 hr 32 min)

Lovely

Nothing in this world is perfect. So definitely there are some problems. But if you are a story lover... GO FOR IT. All the stories are good for me. I would suggest if the admins would check the recordings for the sound level. A few of them are with low sound level even in full volume. Overall I LOVE LB.

Inspiring

This book has already caused many answers in my head. I never knew that Hansel and Gretel originated from this book.

Grimm's Fairy Tales Review

I grew up reading grimm's tales, so this is really nice. The readers, for the most part, are good, and the stories are some of my favorites and a lot of the classics. I enjoyed it thoroughly!

Grimms

The first one was cut off before the end... all and all it was a good reading but the strange creepy voice on Hans in Luck is.... creepy.

Love it

Brilliant dramatic reading of traditional fairy tales. Loved the first reader, what a great voice actor and he genuinely sounded so annoyed when the fox was not listened too.

awesome !!!

Reflective collection

(5 stars)

I was curious about the origins of Disney's stories and characters and that's how I came across this. The stories are a reflective read with their many moral lessons. I felt there were, perhaps, too many stories with royalty sprinkled about, but that's just the writers' style. The diversity of readers was also a refreshing course.

none of the stories are complete! how odd. they just stop before the end. Don't bother, you'll just be disappointed
