In “The Higher Pantheism,” Alfred, Lord Tennyson reflects on the presence of the divine in the natural world. The poem asks the listener to look beyond what can be seen and measured, toward a spiritual reality that may be present in every part of creation.

Written as a meditation rather than a narrative, it brings together nature, faith, and the limits of human understanding. Tennyson’s measured verse gives the poem a contemplative tone, inviting attention to its ideas and imagery.
