The Leopard in Autumn

(4.5 stars; 12 reviews)

The Leopard in Autumn is a delightful BBC Radio comedy that takes you to the ruling family of Monte Guano, a small and penniless principality in Renaissance Italy. Follow Prince Ludovico II as he navigates the chaos of his rule, constantly undermined by his clever wife, his official mistress, and his three disappointing sons.

As tributes from the Pope increase and the threat of war looms, Ludovico faces a myriad of challenges, from fake currency to the antics of English tourists. Will the family manage to stay together amidst the absurdity of their lives? This series features a talented cast, including David Swift, Sian Phillips, and Graham Crowden, and was devised by Neal Anthony.

This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.

Great show, what is the theme music.

Anyone know what the theme music is from? It feels like it might be faux-period, but sounds real enough as a certain kind of hackwork from the period. If someone knows a composer name?
