December 2023 Thank you for the clear and concise reading . I was vaguely familiar with the women’s suffrage movement in England while reading some of the US history during the 100 year anniversary of the right to vote in 2020 . These ladies fought hard and suffered at the hands of their government . This autobiography showed the more militant wing of the movement and while I winced at times with some of their actions I am glad they finally succeeded. I do not take my right to vote lightly . The ladies were asking for far more than political rights and their movement led to other hard fought social rights for women . We should be thankful and not turn the clock back .
Women’s struggle for the vote
Jacimac
A story of the endless patience of women in U.K. asking for the vote and finally, after being lied to and betrayed year after year, how they took up a more militant stance. The suffering these women went through this unimaginable. It is a shocking reminder to us all to use the vote that these women fought to obtain for us. How men denied half the human race the right to be counted as people and to be eligible to vote is astounding. As ever many men used their greater physical power, thereby pushing women to use their inner strength and mental prowess to finally defeat them.
