Rex Harrison & Leon Janney Shine in "The Private Files of Rex Saunders"

(5 stars)

This is a very good program with Rex Harrison as Rex Saunders and Leon Janney as his friend/employee Alec/Alex. The scripts are well paced, the action proceeds in a sequential/orderly manner, and the plots are interesting as they deal with a crime. Neither of the two main characters "over act," but deliver their lines in a manner to keep the attention of the listener. Some of the shows give credit to the radio cast and in other shows the cast/director/writer/musician are omitted. Some of the shows have the sponsor (RCA Victor) deliver a message, which to me made it even more interesting. Overall, a very worthwhile show.

Double-act not so good

Rex is fine - his rather dumb side-kick, Alec, is not. You begin to wish Rex would dump this not-so-bright irritating fellow and replace him with a not-so-bright, but cute, girl pal. Oh well.
