Pinto Pete and His Ranch Boys is a delightful series of country and western programs that brings a unique charm to Old Time Radio. The show features Pinto Pete, played by versatile actor and producer Jack Ross, along with Joe "Curley" Bradley and Ken "Shorty" Carson, who rounded out the trio. These talented individuals not only acted but also worked as stuntmen and appeared in films such as It Happened One Night and In Old Monterey.

The program first aired in the early 1930s, with broadcasts over KTM nearly every day. The earliest recorded mention of the show dates back to December 13, 1933, in Sandusky, Ohio. The trio's journey included a memorable publicity stunt where they rode their horses from Hollywood to Chicago, landing them a spot on the National Barn Dance for three months.

Producer Grace Gibson introduced the show to Australia around 1934, and it continued to be heard intermittently until 1944. The series has a rich history, and while it may not be widely known today, it remains a cherished part of the Old Time Radio landscape.

i read the ratings on the big download page, i thought they were a bit harsh. this stuff is country and western. its old time religion , its 1930s, what do they expect. whoever took the time to research and compile these should be commended, thank you. its good to hear these songs in the style of radio program of the day sav rekons 3.75 stars
