Has promise, but...

Reminds me of the original flash gordon; corny and cliche. Has promise, but I'm thinking it was written by a pre teen boy for pre teen boys.
Too much cheese for my liking!

Gramkin obsesses about cheese and so you will hear a lot about this fascinating subject in the first hour of the book, which is as far as I got before I gave up! For example, Max has just departed the castle where his father has been murdered and the screens can still be heard, but all that Gramkin can think to do is offer him a piece of cheese. After a moment‘s pause, Max actually decides he is hungry and will have a piece of cheese. I kid you not! The other dreadful thing about this book is the silly voices that the author gives to the main protagonists. Such voices should only be used for stories that are being read to children aren’t old enough to read for themselves! To be fair I only listened to the first hour and that was enough for me and perhaps the story dramatically improves thereafter. I highly doubt it though!

by far the most annoying collection of voices I have ever heard. Could not finish.
