Enjoyed first book, not so the second!

I enjoyed the first book and hoped that the second would match up to it. But I found that the storyline just got to hocked up on technical detail about various parts of the plot and it started to get boring. Also, the main protagonist becomes almost superhuman And everything he does is very Hollywood like. I preferred book one where he was an average lad with some special powers. Gave up after about an hour as it was starting to irritate me.

full of teenage passions and excitement but seemed like it lost the point until all of the sudden it makes sense rather enjoyable for my taste starting book lll ASAP
