The Oaks Grove

Lu par Michael J. Parry

It was going to be a quiet weekend in the country. Elanore was going to spend it chatting with courtly gents about matters of higher importance or something. I was going to make sure she didn’t embarrass herself too much at the table.
Yeah, those plans never work do they? Instead there’s a body in the library and we are up to our necks in murder and soup spoons.

As entertaining as the spiral tattoo, just when you adjust to the giant and the wee man, the troll dons a dress and the duo take on new setting. wonderfully read as first. saddened Ive found no third book YET..not giving up hope..highly reccomend this for a listen but give the spiral tattoo a go first.

I love how Gurt keeps looking like he's just tagging along with Elanore, not really contributing, perhaps playing Dr. Watson to Elanore's Holmes, but then something pops up, like the larger set of dice hidden in Elanore's bags, and you realize he's not quite as scatterbrained as he seems. I ...

Yay! More Gurt and Fursk. And Elanore in a dress! Looking forward to the continuing adventure. One techy note - I got a lot of hissing in the first couple of episodes. Might just be my deteriorating earbuds, but I actually was waiting to hear that it was raining, but ...
very good follow up to the spiral tattoo

Kees de Jager
the author seems to have addressed one of the deficiencies with the Spiral tattoo in that there was a distinct lack of character development. this story helps to full in a lot of the Blanks left and I now look forward to a follow up.

The hiss is much improved as of episode 7. So happy to be hanging out with Elanore and Gurt again that i could pop; their gentle intelligence and total pragmatism are such a delight. And that red dress! Yow-wow. xD I wouldn't hesitate to take a troll lady dancing, that's ...

loved it. the first book was impressive. your second is a story worthy to listen to. only thing the voices of Elenore and Gurt should be different to your listeners who are seeing impaired due to a human fault..age. i will look for more chapters of your dynamic duo.
Fun tale, great sequel, perfect reader.

Seven Archers
This sequel is excellent, the story line is good fun fantasy. The characters are sort of like the "Starsky and Hutch" of fantasy. The reader has a wonderful voice and style that makes the story that much better.

Barry: Thanks for the comment. I am glad you like it. :-) Jamey: Thanks. I am glad you picked that up :-) The balancing act between giving enough of what has gone before/rewriting previous material and leaving it out is a delicate act...
