The Mystery: ”Mr. Stone," I began, "if three persons spent the night in an apartment so securely locked on the inside that there was no possible means of ingress, and if in the morning it was found that one of those three persons had been murdered at midnight, would you say that the guilt must rest upon either one or both of the other two persons?” (Carolyn Wells )The solution - who knows? Critiques
Much Better

ItsLoriK
This is much better than the Mystery Girl! I'm glad I didn't pay attention to the one negative review here. It really applies to the Mystery Girl but not this book. It is another locked room mystery with "love" at first sight & a girl in distress that acts queerly. It was enjoyable, logical, & made me incorrectly guess who the killer was.
R. Kilmer is always a joy

Biblio
Richard Kilmer is one of my favourite Librivox readers. Such a pleasant and relaxing voice. The book is enjoyable in its own way, neither the best nor the worst, and should keep your interest for the most part. The reader is the star for me though.
Pretty good

Ancient Aunt
A pretty good tale that kept my interest. The wild variety of clues found in the dead man’s room were quite intriguing and I did not figure them out before the reveal at the end, but they made sense. I enjoyed this volunteer reader very much.
The Chained Door

Keith Horvath
I love this period stories! They always start of slow,, yet after the second or 3rd chapter becomes engaging. And of course Fleming Stone. Always a treat & interesting how Carolyn Wells exemplifies the detective's way of thinking. Quite a treat.....
well read, fun mystery

msdragon
a fun little mystery that plays well. not many twists and turns and the romance is a little heavy handed but it is still a fun story.
A Chain of Evidence

DRSmith
Reader always a good listen with a unique cadence and tone; story fun and light on the who-done-it plot with a twist of romance. Many thanks!
NICE AND NEAT

Avid Listener
Another interesting detective story replete with false clues. Stone solves it satisfactorily, Kilmer reads it nicely, and all (with one exception) live happily ever after.

Me
the book is so-so, but the narrator is good! think maybe the other reviewer has the wrong recording as this one is excellent.
