Kellogg Durland spent a year in Russia as a journalist in 1906, during a seminal period in Russian history. This is a highly interesting read, knowing as we do what fell out for Russia in the next decade. The Russian Revolution did not appear from nowhere in 1917. Durland's account shows the rumblings that existed before the explosion. (Summary by Lynette Caulkins) (14 hr 24 min)

What a harrowing true story. A true unbiased account of life in Russia in 1906, with the brewing up of the 1917 revolution. Had the Tsar been a humane ruler, listening to the poor, keeping a check on his police, army and violent Cossacks, Russia’s history may have been a bit different. I am not surprised the Romanovs were murdered! I found the story very upsetting at times, and wondered if I wanted to hear any more. Thank you Kellog Durland for getting this written. Thank you readers for a well read story.
