While chopping some wood for a morning campfire, Brit catches an outlaw trying to steal his horse and shoots him. Brit insists on taking the dying man to town for a doctor, and that he won't let anyone lynch him for a killing he confessed to committing the night before. On the way, Brit runs into a posse.
