The Line Up - Single Episodes
The Line Up is a hard-boiled drama that follows the actions of police officers in the field, showcasing realistic portrayals of their work. Unlike other shows of its time, it was not based on actual police cases but instead created fictional scenarios that felt authentic, ranging from kidnappings to thefts.
The series began as a summer replacement for The FBI in Peace and War in 1950 and quickly gained its own time slot, running until the spring of 1953. It featured Bill Johnstone as Lt. Ben Guthrie and later transitioned to television from 1954 to 1960, starring Warner Anderson.
The show is known for its unique format, starting with a police line-up where the sergeant would engage the audience, setting the stage for the unfolding drama. This structure not only added rhythm to the show but also allowed for moments of humor during suspect interrogations.

Being a big fan of “Dragnet” I find this show to be equally interesting and entertaining. Good scripts/plots and great interaction of characters make this worthy of listening.
