Author! Author! is a unique radio show where published fiction writers gather to create inventive stories based on unusual endings presented to them. The show debuted on April 7, 1939, under the sponsorship of the B.F. Goodrich Rubber Company and was directed by Robert Lewis Shayon.

The format features a dramatized version of an inexplicable event, followed by the panelists, including the creators Fred Dannay and Manny Lee, who challenge each other to devise plausible explanations for the scenarios. The show was described as a 'fiction funfest' and included notable guests such as Dorothy Parker and Moss Hart.

Despite its intriguing premise, Author! Author! lasted for almost a year before disappearing from the airwaves, leaving behind a legacy of creative storytelling and lively banter among its participants.
