Cleaner but audio full of clipping

I applaud the efforts to restore this, however, unfortunately the audio was saved at too hot of a signal, resulting in clipping throughout the file, which can be heard as a glitchy distortion in the audio. For some reason the first 37 seconds of the right channel is almost completely too hot, during the introduction, with almost continuous distortion. To get around that, as the recording is mono, using software such as Audacity, one could delete the R channel, repair the clipping in L channel with the Clip Fix plugin and replace R with a copy of the L channel, Here's a fixed version: https://archive.org/details/orson-welles-war-of-the-worlds-radio-broadcast-1938-10-30

This REMASTERED version is cleaner and crisper-sounding than the original copy, and it sounds JUST LIKE it (presumably) did on the radio, back in 1938! If I were ONLY allowed to listen to just ONE OTR show, I'd make THIS show THE ONE to listen to, because it's STILL one of my all-time favorite radio shows, which I will keep on cherishing...UNTIL THE VERY DAY I DIE! THANKS A MILLION TO WHOEVER UPLOADED THIS FINE PIECE OF AMERICAN RADIO HISTORY, AND MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOURS MOST RICHLY!
