Newsstand Theater was a production of ABC that featured dramatizations of short stories originally published in magazines such as Collier’s, Woman’s Home Companion, and The American. The program aimed to attract a new audience to boost circulation, which was strong at over 20 million for all titles, despite the company facing challenges in the early 1950s.

Premiering in April 1951 and concluding in late 1953, the show presented a variety of genres, including light-hearted comedies, romantic dramas, and serious treatments of contemporary affairs. Notably, authors occasionally appeared on the program, enhancing its appeal.

This episode features the story "Delayed Reaction" by Michael Sklar, with performances by veteran New York radio voices Lesley Woods, George Petrie, and Connie Lemke.
