Laura Lee Hope
Lu par Cheryl Adam

Helen, Margy and Rose Blythe, displaced from their family home in Long Island, have struggled to carve out a new life in their tiny apartment in New York City. But it is still hard to make ends meet. When Margy discovers she is to receive an inheritance from an aunt she hardly knew in the Midwest, the sisters are excited. Excitement turns to chagrin when they find that the inheritance appears to be an old clock, a battered living room set, and a huge box of flour. But there’s more there than meets the eye —if the girls can solve their eccentric aunt’s clues to a real-life treasure hunt. - Summary by Cheryl Adam

Critiques

Huckleberry Gap
Simple, fun story of young women making their way against odds. An inheritance that makes no sense, and yet some villain is determined to steal it. A bad boss replaced by a worse one. The Blythe girls make more friends, help and are helped, and triumph in the end.

Bonnie Parr
The Blythe girls are struggling to make it on their own. Than Margy receives an inheirentance from Aunt Margy, but oddly, it seems to be a large sack of flour. Interesting search to solve the mystery.
