Roger and his cousin Anthony are ready to head out on vacation, when a phone call from Scotland Yard sends the duo scuttling down to Hampshire to investigate the possible murder of a Mrs. Vane, who had disappeared on her way to visit a friend. Local police and newspapers reported the death as accidental, but officers at Scotland Yard have their doubts. At this point, they call in amateur sleuth Roger Sheringham to investigate.

Critiques

Marigold
Let's just say the twist in the end totally caught me off guard. Someone's ego deflated in a hurry. I laughed. I hope more books from this author get on here because I think the author writes with a nice touch of holding your interest without getting too deep. The cousin accompanying the main character in this story added a dash of humor which was greatly appreciated by this listener.
Good Readers - Fascinating Story

Frank Bowden
The story seems very contemporary when compared to other early 20th Century detective novels. It also turns the genre on its head.
