Critiques

Excellent Reading!

(5 stars)

Thank you very much, Mr. Roberts. This was a very entertaining read: I always enjoy Chekhov & this was no exception. The story itself began rather slowly, but, as is typical for novels of this era, it picked up & payed off later The reading was stellar. The voice-acting was very good & gave dimension to the characters, especially the Count. I highly recommend this reading to anyone interested in late 19th century Russian literature.

Russian pathos and tragedy

(4 stars)

The narration is superb. Bryn Roberts reads with good pace, great enunciation and dramatic flourish. As for the tale, well it's typical Russian high drama full of emotion and the woes of life. Hard not to feel a bit depressed by the sordid natures of several of the key characters.
