CBS Radio Mystery Theater
The Deadly Double
CBS Radio Mystery Theater presents original radio dramas and adaptations in the tradition of classic suspense and mystery broadcasts. Hosted by E. G. Marshall, the series frames its stories with a calm, distinctive introduction and closing, guiding listeners into tales of crime, danger, and the uncanny.
Each installment is a self-contained audio play, brought to life through dialogue, sound effects, and music rather than narration alone. The stories range across mysteries, psychological suspense, supernatural encounters, and other dramatic situations, with performers creating vivid characters and settings through their voices.
The result is an intimate, atmospheric listening experience: a familiar host welcomes you in, then the cast and sound design build tension scene by scene. Its theatrical style makes it well suited to listeners who enjoy classic radio storytelling and a complete dramatic tale in audio form.
