Jubilee
Louis Jordan, Nat King Cole
by
Jubilee is a musical variety program centered on Black performers and popular music. This installment features Louis Jordan and Nat King Cole, bringing together two distinctive artists associated with jazz, blues, and swing.
The listening experience is built around musical performances rather than a single narrated story. Jordan’s lively, rhythm-driven style and Cole’s smooth, intimate singing offer contrasting sounds within the program’s variety format.
With its focus on performers and songs, Jubilee captures a vibrant strand of wartime-era radio entertainment and showcases artists whose music helped shape American popular culture.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
