The Adventures of Maisie

The Birthday Gift

English · Radio, Humor, Drama

Maisie Ravier is a quick-witted, independent showgirl whose travels and knack for landing in unexpected situations drive this radio comedy-drama. Ann Sothern stars as Maisie, bringing the character a lively mix of confidence, warmth, and streetwise humor.

The series follows Maisie through changing jobs, new acquaintances, and everyday complications, blending comic misunderstandings with moments of romance and light adventure. Episodes are presented as acted radio stories, with dialogue, sound effects, and music helping bring their settings and characters to life.

Maisie’s resourcefulness is central to the show’s appeal: she meets setbacks with a sharp remark and a practical plan, while the supporting characters add fresh complications to her schemes. The result is an easygoing, character-led listen that balances comedy with the gentle drama of a woman making her own way.
