Wild Bill Hickok

Press for Justice

English · Western, Dramatic Readings

Wild Bill Hickok is a Western radio adventure series centered on the legendary frontier lawman, played by Guy Madison, with Andy Devine as his companion, Jingles. Together, they ride through the Old West, confronting trouble and helping people caught up in danger or injustice.

The program presents self-contained dramatic adventures, using dialogue, sound effects, and music to evoke frontier towns, open country, and the hazards of life on the trail. Hickok’s steady sense of justice is balanced by Jingles’s humor and lively personality, giving the stories both action and lighter moments.

Its appeal lies in the familiar Western mix of pursuit, danger, and moral resolve, brought to life through a spirited two-character partnership. The episode title, “Press for Justice,” suggests a story shaped around the series’ law-and-order themes.
