The Chesterfield Supper Club

Without a Penny in Your Pocket

English · Music, Radio

The Chesterfield Supper Club is a musical variety program built around performances by singer and bandleader Perry Como. Its relaxed presentation brings popular songs to the radio, with Como’s warm, easygoing vocals at the center.

The program combines musical performances with the polished variety-show style of the era. Listeners can expect a mix of songs and entertainment shaped for a supper-club setting, where the music is presented with an intimate, welcoming feel rather than the scale of a concert hall.

Como’s understated charm gives the show its distinctive tone: smooth, personable, and focused on melody. It offers an inviting snapshot of mid-century radio entertainment, with a featured song providing the occasion for this broadcast.

This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
