Treasury Star Parade
Ode to You
por
Treasury Star Parade was a wartime radio series created to support the U.S. Treasury’s efforts to promote the sale of war bonds. Its short dramatic presentations brought familiar performers and compelling stories to the airwaves in service of that public campaign.
The program offered a varied listening experience, with dramatic scenes and performances shaped around themes of sacrifice, service, and support for the war effort. The title “Ode to You” suggests a personal address, giving this installment a direct, commemorative feel.
Blending entertainment with a clear civic purpose, the series reflects the way radio connected popular performance to everyday wartime life. Its concise, earnest style makes it a distinctive example of radio drama used for public service.
