CBS Radio Workshop
A Pride of Carrots (Venus Well Served)
CBS Radio Workshop was an anthology program that brought radio drama, comedy, and other creative forms to the air. Rather than following one continuing cast of characters, the series offered a changing selection of stories and performances, giving each broadcast its own setting and style.
This recording is identified as “A Pride of Carrots (Venus Well Served).” The title suggests a playful, imaginative piece, while the Workshop format made room for varied dramatic approaches and distinctive sound design. Listeners can expect a self-contained radio presentation shaped by spoken performance, music, and effects rather than a conventional ongoing serial.
The series is notable for treating radio as a space for experimentation as well as entertainment. Its anthology structure makes it easy to settle into a single production, with the pleasure of hearing a new idea take shape through voices and sound.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
