Lux Radio Theatre brings classic stories to radio in dramatic adaptations, with a cast of performers bringing the characters and scenes to life through dialogue, music, and sound. Its polished presentation gives familiar works a vivid, theatrical feel while making them accessible as audio drama.
This recording presents A Tale of Two Cities, Charles Dickens’s historical novel set amid the upheaval of the French Revolution. The story follows intertwined lives shaped by danger, sacrifice, and the struggle to survive a turbulent era, moving between London and Paris.
The program’s appeal lies in hearing a celebrated literary work transformed for the microphone: expressive performances and carefully staged sound create an intimate drama that unfolds entirely through listening.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
