The Witch's Tale
The Haunted Crossroads
by
The Witch's Tale is an early horror radio series presented by an eerie, intimate narrator known as Old Nancy. She introduces tales of the supernatural, drawing listeners into stories of haunted places, restless spirits, and people caught in unsettling circumstances.
The program blends spoken storytelling with dramatic radio effects and music to create its atmosphere. Old Nancy’s narration frames the tale, while voices and sound bring the story’s scenes to life. This episode is titled “The Haunted Crossroads,” suggesting a story centered on a place where the ordinary world meets something uncanny.
The series favors shadowy suspense and gothic unease over fast-paced action. Its distinctive appeal lies in the contrast between Old Nancy’s direct address and the strange events unfolding in the story, making it a compelling listen for fans of classic radio horror.
