Maisie, the Adventures Of

The Manicurist Bookie in the Barbershop

English · Radio, Humor

Maisie is a quick-witted young woman making her way through life with a lively mix of confidence, charm, and comic misadventure. The series follows her everyday encounters and efforts to get ahead, with Maisie’s resourcefulness and spirited outlook at the center.

Presented as a radio comedy, the program brings Maisie’s situations to life through dialogue and performance, turning familiar social and workaday settings into opportunities for misunderstandings, schemes, and sharp exchanges. The episode title points to a barbershop setting and a manicurist who is also a bookie.

The appeal lies in Maisie’s independent personality and the light, conversational humor of her adventures. It is an easygoing character comedy, with a heroine whose knack for talking her way through trouble gives the stories their buoyant tone.
