Pat O'Daniel and the Hillbilly Boys
Moonlight and Roses
von
Pat O'Daniel and the Hillbilly Boys presents a country-music radio performance by bandleader Pat O'Daniel and his group. The title identifies this recording with “Moonlight and Roses,” a popular song that gives the program a romantic musical focus.
Listeners can expect a performance centered on the band and its music, rather than a narrated story. The recording offers a glimpse of the hillbilly-music style named in the group’s title, with the song itself providing the clearest indication of the material featured here.
Its appeal lies in hearing an early radio-era country ensemble bring a familiar melody to the air. The result is a straightforward musical listening experience rooted in the sound and presentation of a band-led broadcast.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
