Guest Star

The Modernaires and El Relicario

English · Radio, Music

Guest Star is a radio variety program built around featured performers and their musical contributions. This installment names the vocal group the Modernaires and the selection “El Relicario,” offering listeners a snapshot of the program’s guest-centered format.

The Modernaires were known for close vocal harmonies, and their appearance brings a polished ensemble sound to the broadcast. “El Relicario,” a Spanish pasodoble, adds a distinctive musical flavor to the program. The focus is on the featured act and its performance, rather than a continuing dramatic storyline.

For listeners drawn to vintage radio music and vocal groups, this recording offers a chance to hear the Modernaires in a broadcast setting. Its appeal lies in the blend of a named guest, a recognizable song, and the intimate immediacy of live-era radio entertainment.

This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
