Pride and Prejudice
Jane Austen
Lu par LibriVox Volunteers
Pride and Prejudice is a keenly observed exploration of love, class, and social expectations in early 19th-century England. At its heart is Elizabeth Bennet, a spirited young woman navigating the complexities of society and her own feelings as she encounters the enigmatic Mr. Darcy. Their initial misunderstandings and prejudices set the stage for a story that delves into the nature of pride, the importance of personal growth, and the transformative power of love.
Set against the backdrop of the English countryside, Austen's novel paints a vivid picture of the lives of the landed gentry. Through sharp wit and incisive commentary, she critiques the societal norms that dictate marriage and relationships, making the narrative both entertaining and thought-provoking. The interplay between Elizabeth and Darcy serves as a compelling examination of character and integrity.
With its memorable characters and rich themes, Pride and Prejudice remains a significant work that continues to resonate with readers today. Austen's masterful storytelling invites listeners to reflect on their own perceptions and the societal pressures that shape them.

The quality is very good, and the readers in most part do a wonderful acting job. Thanks so much to all volunteers.

Oh I do love that. The ending did make me smile. Though I had heard of this story, I had never been aware of its contents. To that notes I find I still could predict most of what was to be fairly early on. More to the point, this did not take away from any enjoyment that I sought in such a story, as so often is the case. Never once did I think of abandoning the story and was pleasently happy with litening to it in its entirety.
Finally Read a Jane Austen

I finally had the opportunity to listen to this audiobook and loved it! I've never read any of her books and found that I really liked Mr. Darcy. The readers were various volunteers and they did a great job! Good sound quality and I didn't want it to end!!

Fantastic. I listen to this whilst following the words from my copy of the book- it is helpful when it comes to understanding the mood of the text due to the reader’s expression. I love the way that although it is from the olden days, it has a witty sense of humour and a pleasant plot.
Excellent story!

Excellent story, most readers were pleasant to listen to. The story itself overcame the reader and became lively in my imagination.

I do understand that the readers are volunteers and I do appreciate their time . I am just not a fan of 1 book or series been read by more than 1 person.
