Written by Baroness Orczy and first published in 1919, The League of the Scarlet Pimpernel is a sequel book to the classic adventure tale, The Scarlet Pimpernel. The book consists of eleven short stories about Sir Percy Blakeney's exploits in rescuing various aristos and French citizens from the clutches of the guillotine. Vintage Pimpernel, told mostly from stranger's voice

Enjoyable, amusing, and brief tales. the sort that fill in the gaps of Sir Percy's and Chauvelin's tortured relationship. A variety of readers with varied levels of experience aided me nicely in knowing these stories, and I am grateful for their complimentary service.

The story is enjoyable but some of the narration is stilted. It is worth listening through even with this difficulty!

Humor, Adventure, Suspense

Thank You, to all the LibriVox volunteers. This book elaborates some of the adventures of The Scarlett Pimpernel's rescues whilst away from his English Manor and long suffering Wife. Very clever, always on offense, and easily, one of my favorite "Heroes" .
