Science Fiction is speculative literature that generally explores the consequences of ideas which are roughly consistent with nature and scientific method, but are not facts of the author’s contemporary world. The stories often represent philosophical thought experiments presented in entertaining ways. Protagonists typically “think” rather than “shoot” their way out of problems, but the definition is flexible because there are no limits on an author’s imagination. The reader-selected stories presented here were written prior to 1962 and became US public domain texts when their copyrights expired. (Summary by Gregg Margarite) (6 hr 7 min)

Critiques

(3.5 stars)

acid bath is one of my favorites

A mixture of stories

(4 stars)

Some really interesting stories and some good readings, some real characters too. the only issue is that as a compilation by various readers the sound level, balance and quality varies often wildly between stories. maybe Librivox can get some volunteer sound engineers to balance the stories in these compilations to better do justice to the great readers

we are lucky to have such nice volunteers to read great story's

to guy who thinks he is funny about the Capt Kirk comment, show respect for Gregg M. the man volunteered until the day he passed from cancer.
