Critiques

Sweet story

(4 stars)

Young Miss Betsy needs to be married, or so her family says, but she is not about to be told to whom. She decides she will romance all of the interesting fellows until one tickles her fancy, since she doesn't really want to get married anyways. Ah, young love, unfortunately this one leads to some embarrassing misadventures, one of which lands her brother in a duel. The chapters are well read, and the recordings are good. Enjoy!

on to the next

Thanks to J Martin for excellent reading. I find Betsy to be “thoughtless “and will read on in the following books to see if her flat , predictable character continues to develop . An enjoyable read

The narration is fantastic, and all those involved in this volume’s reading are to be praised for their steady reading and clear annunciation. The recordings are fantastic, and they all capture the nature of Eliza Haywood’s writing!
