Fantastic

(5 stars)

Although I'm generally not drawn in by books read by multiple authors, I was enticed to try this one and I'm ever so glad I did. The book was well read, well written, and kept the attention just as well, too. I would reccomend it to anyone.

Enjoyable Book

(4.5 stars)

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved the characters and was hoping for some romance to develop, which it did. All the characters were very well developed and I could relate to Flora. Thanks for a job well done to the readers.

Better than Pollyanna imo

(5 stars)

It's been a long time since I read Pollyanna or the other one about David, but I think yhis one is better than either of those. Also...um...I'm glad I listened to this because sometimes now I remind myself of Jane Blaisedell. No I don't wear two aprons or have tidies. But the tendency is there. Of course it's prompted by trying to be green as much as trying to save money. Still it must be just as silly. So this story helps me curb it.

Entertaining book!

This was a fun book to listen to. The cousins all take to the money differently and it's fun to see Stanley, I mean John Smith, rethinking the wisdom of his plan as he struggles to find a way out of Hillerton and the mess he has made . . . Well read by a variety of Librivox volunteers. There is not a weak section in the entire book.

A wonderful story.

This is a wonderful story. I loved the characters and the story. It keeps your attention and does not lag. The readers did a great job as well. This is a story to pass onto others to enjoy. It shows the way most people would react if given $100,000.00.

Cute story

(4 stars)

This is such a cute story. I find it a bit slow at first, but once "Mr Smith" got into town, it was great! It shows how a windfall of money isn't always the answer to life's problems but sometimes causes even more problems. The readers were all wonderful.

interesting read

I just wish ms porter wd have added one more chapter to the book where Mr Fulton wd reveal himself to his relatives. otherwise it's a very good book with great readers. thanks to the volunteers for bringing it alive

This is an enjoyable story about humanity and the effects of inherited wealth. Not a wonderful literary work, or a dark distopian story, but rather a simple thought provoking and enjoyable tale, with a pleasant ending.
