The readers are good but... THEY PUT IN THE ROMAN NAMES FOR THE GODS NOT THE GREEK NAMES! 😤 It is mildly triggering.

Not Greek.

First of all: The readers did a great job! The book itself on the other hand did make me cringe quite a bit. Despite the title, Mr. Baldwin seems unable to grasp the difference between Roman and Greek and keeps messing with the characters (especially in regard to their names). The stories in this book are turned into very stretched fairytale versions of the original myths and remind me more of a Hollywood movie than actual mythology. That is a shame, as the original stories certainly don't lack any entertainment in the first place. Alternatively I recommend: 'Myths and Legends of Ancient Greece and Rome' by E. M. Berens (https://librivox.app/book/2264)

Loved listening to a reader of old tales and fables. I’m a 72 year old army Vietnam era veteran. My eyesight isn’t the best, so as you can see, I love to listen to books. I can’t afford much such as buying the recent Audio books. So I downloaded the ones that were free and listen to them on my telephone. Thank you so much for having this available.

easy listening

fun to hear. condensed versions of myths, but easy to follow if your just wanting to listen to stories . enjoyable. even if you know detailed mythology, it's still good and lite
