William Law uses fictional characters to illustrate what true devotion is, and what it is not. This makes for a very interesting reading experience. Every Christian will find themselves challenged to a closer scrutiny of their lives after reading this book, and will, I believe, be inspired to a personal revival of their consecration and dedication to God. This book is just as relevant ,if not more so, now than it was when it was written in the 1600s and the 1700s. Definitely recommend it because of its clarity of speech and its conviction and its authorship from a place of experience and sobriety. Truly, a devout life made straightforward and simple if not easy.

He uses the word ABSURD constantly! I recommend H W Smith & A Murray instead.
this book skips from chapter 7 to 14. I'm missing alot.
