Northwest!

Gelesen von Roger Melin

Northwest! takes place in western Canada, primarily western Alberta and British Columbia. The story revolves around Jimmy not being sure whether or not he shot and killed a Northwest Mounted while he and some friends were out hunting one day. Not exactly a bushman, he needs to head northwest to avoid capture by the officials who are out to find him and bring him to trial. At least that's what he suspects. Survival in the wilderness for one who was raised in British class proves to be a daunting experience, and we learn of the trials he is to be put through while he is on the lam. Ms. Andrea
An interesting tale.. But not really my style.. It was well read though & even though it's not typically in my line of interest.. The reader made it interesting enough that I had to listen to the finish.. Well done Roger!
I really enjoy stories like this

Very well read. Made my drive to the camp site enjoyable. Hopefully I will find more stories in this fashion. Thank you!

Puella
I liked it! turned the old trope of hero rescuing damsel upside down.

The best thing about this audio book is the narration. Jimmy, our hero, is rich, impossibly naive, spineless, easily led, and the lawful prey for every card sharp, con man, and hanger-on he comes across. Most of the rest of the characters aren't well fleshed-out. The saddest thing for me is that I started reading this because I wanted to be immersed in the wilderness, but there's no poetry in this book. It's just meh .

You won't be disappointed! It has everything that I love in a book. It's innocence of the time that it was written is refreshing! Mystery and love!!
Should have title “By and By”🤭

I chose this novel due to Roger Melin the narrator but “by and by” it turned out to be very enjoyable.
