If Thad is your favorite character its a good listen. personally I can't stand him and like to think that he gets killed doing something stupid in WW1. Chunky seems to exist for comic relief. Ned merely to antagonize Chunky. And poor Walter, who's journey this really is, is only remembered when they need a throwaway line

I love this series!

I do really enjoy these books and they make yard work / house work fly by. Just one warning. Please keep mind that these books are from a time before ALL people were considered equal.
