(4.7 stars; 57 reviews)

The Worst Journey in the World is a memoir of the 1910–1913 British Antarctic Expedition led by Robert Falcon Scott. It was written and published in 1922 by a survivor of the expedition, Apsley Cherry-Garrard, and has earned wide praise for its frank treatment of the difficulties of the expedition, the causes of its disastrous outcome, and the meaning (if any) of human suffering under extreme conditions. Critiques

Great. less fact and figures than Scott's

(5 stars)

So well read. Good to hear an English accent reading an English story, makes it more realistic. also lots of different accents for other characters. They don't make men like that any more

(4 stars)

chapter 19 part 1 broke my patience. Reader was excellent throught both volumes of this saga. however, the author's defense of the Scott expedition failure was just too much. such rhetoric, although common for it's time, rings so hollow that I may never clear my ears of its propaganda. too sickly really, and spread far to thick.

(5 stars)

Amazingly detailed, The reader does an outstanding job. The story should be heard after Volume One in order to understand the crew members and the relationships. Volume one is the journals of Scott for the most part. This volume is the journals of the others with him. GREAT STORY

truly mindboggling ...

(5 stars)

... and the reader, Kevin Green, will hypnotize you into feeling he's Apsley Cherry-Garrard grinding out the last hours of his life .. a must listen!160923!05:49!

A great story

Sublime account of the heroic exploits of Scott's fall

Great story better than Scots own account.
