Because reading can be a very difficult job I make it a rule to never disparage anyone who has donated so much time and effort. However, for some reason my patience forsook me when I started Volume II of this fine piece of literature. I ended up skipping the sections that were too difficult to understand. So, with that I say that if you enjoyed the first Volume, Volume II of Amelia is a must!

This is an extraordinary work of literature BUT LibriVox owes Henry Fielding a profound apology for it's reading. After suffering through nine chapters of Gabriela Cowan practicing her English I enjoyed relief until the attack of Anesthesia Solokha. I have no idea what that chapter was even about. I don't know what language she speaks, but it's not English. Kristen G, Lynne Thompson and Brantley Moore are capable of reading, but they are obviously frustrated actresses who try to perform rather than read. Their so-called performances greatly distract from Mr. Fielding's work. My sincere thanks to the other readers, who are quite good. I understand that LibriVox must depend on volunteers BUT inferior recordings should be thrown out!!!

The book begins with an unintelligible reader. Accent so thick and common words so dreadfully mispronounced that the story never quite begins. The time and energy that went into this production was wasted.
